Kyle Larson is a fan of racing outside of NASCAR, that is no surprise at all. But what track does he love the most when he’s racing in a smaller venue? Well, we might know a bit more about that now as he shared a track he loves.
The reason for his love is pretty fascinating, though.

In a Livestream interview with David Gravel, Larson talked about everything from his newborn son to the Chilli Bowl. But in the interview, he also went on about a particular track that he particularly loves for one big reason. And that track in Grandview in Pennsylvania, and he loves the track because it doesn’t feel like Pennsylvania!
“Yeah, Grandview is one of my favorite tracks in Pennsylvania just because not just because, but one of the reasons why I love it just because it doesn’t feel like you’re in Pennsylvania.” The 2021 Cup Series champion said. “It’s a different color dirt. It’s a different shape, different size, different everything compared to what you’re typically used to racing at in Pennsylvania, so the fans are way different, too.”
But the part about the fans in Grandview is a whole different reason too, because of their similarity to NASCAR
“It’s more. I feel like kind of a big block or small block, whatever you want to call it crowd. Kind of NASCAR-ish crowd. So. Yeah, I love Grandview. It’s one of my favorite tracks that go to.”

Of course, there are more reasons why he loves Grandview so much, and that’s to do with the challenge the track poses.

There are certain elements of the track that make the racing at Pennsylvania fun too, and the champ went into detail about it. Although he complimented the crowd once again, he highlighted the dynamic nature of the track as he said, “The crowd feels like they’re on top of you because they’re kind of all around the track. The track changes a ton throughout.”

He added, “You did the locked down fast throughout, you know, hotlabs qualifying heat race, and you’re like, Man, this is gonna be a dud of a feature. And then go out there and throw more water on it before the feature. Pack it down with the water chucks like, gosh, you’re throwing like 30 tear-offs on and then it blows dust in like five laps. And it’s just a difficult track to keep up with, so I like it a lot. It races well.”
