In Week 2, the Kansas City Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco fractured his fibula and required surgery. The estimated timeline for his comeback was six to eight weeks. But now that Week 11 has passed, there’s a high chance that Pacheco will get back in his form soon; at least the quarterback Patrick Mahomes is hopeful for that.
During a recent appearance at The Drive podcast, Patrick Mahomes joined host Carrington Harrison to talk about his upcoming games and the roster. While speaking about his team’s offense and defense, the 3-time Super Bowl champ expressed his excitement about the team’s prospects heading into the postseason, especially with the possibility of having a strong backfield.
Besides that, although Patrick Mahomes is unsure if Isiah Pacheco will return for the next game against Carolina, he is confident the RB will be back before the end of the month, either for this game or the one against the Raiders. In addition to that, Mahomes even highlighted how well Kareem Hunt has been performing, running hard, and gaining extra yards, and shared his enthusiasm for adding Pacheco back into the mix.

And for this, the quarterback chose to speak some high praise for his potentially returning RB. How? Well, Patrick Mahomes sends a warning to the NFL defenses: “We know it’s going to be exciting, and he’s (Pacheco) going to have energy, and he’s going to make big plays happen and run tough. I think it’s pretty hard for defenses to account for. And as well, as you get the run game going, it opens up the pass game as well. And so I’m excited for it, man.”
Furthermore, Patrick Mahomes also talked about other players like JuJu Smith-Schuster’s return. Hence, he feels “excited to get guys healthy, get them back in the swing of things, and let them go out there and be the special players that they are.” But the question is, what’s the truth in Pacheco’s return?
Is Patrick Mahomes’s key player Isiah Pacheco really coming out of injury?
According to multiple reports, the 25-year-old key offensive weapon of Patrick Mahomes’s Chiefs, Isiah Pacheco, is on his way back to starting. This is because the team opened up his 21-day window, allowing him to return from injured reserve. In addition to that, he had three limited practices last week. Despite all of those, Patrick Mahomes’s star player didn’t return in Week 11. But for the upcoming game, there’s a high chance that he will make a comeback, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport stated that he is expected to be fully healthy and hence can return in the Week 12 game.

Coach Andy Reid hasn’t clearly made any confirmation on it, but yes, he definitely gave a subtle hint. The hint? Yeah, the hint is—during a presser on Friday, Reid said that Pacheco did a good job in the week’s practice and he “moved around well.” So, this means the Carolina Panthers might face the Chiefs’s star RB this time.
Apart from him, remember Patrick Mahomes has a favorite emoji—the clock—for almost any game day’s special media post. Yes! The same clock has been recently used by his star WR, Hollywood Brown, in a cryptic social media post. Now this hints at Brown’s return too. Brown was sidelined due to a sternoclavicular injury, and it was speculated that he won’t return for this season. But this time he might be coming back too, along with Isiah Pacheco, and that’s the reason why Patrick Mahomes is excited.
