In the book, ‘The Roger Federer Effect,’ former Nike tennis director Mike Nakajima discussed the 44-year-old tennis star’s involvement in producing the epic RF collection with her husband. However, the former Nike head acknowledged Mirka’s role in the design and how she filled in for Federer’s absence and guided the Nike team in developing the entire RF collection. Nakajima also discussed how his team has always respected the tennis star’s wife’s opinion as much as the tennis star’s.

Nakajima said, “That’s something Mirka was very involved with. When Roger wasn’t available, Mirka was. She told us, ‘This is what Roger likes,’ and we went by that. And we wanted to make sure that the tennis product we made, especially for Roger, became wearable as fashion. A nice polo with a little RF logo; people just went crazy over that.”

However, even after coming up with such an amazing collection with Nike, the tennis legend called off his long professional relationship with Nike in 2018 to join a Japanese athletic brand.

The former World No. 1 received three times as much money from the Japanese company Uniqlo as he did from his contract with Nike.
The Swiss star will reportedly receive an astounding $300 million from this sponsor arrangement because the agreement with the Japanese brand is for 10 years. In addition, he stated that he was seeking innovation and originality so that he could recreate the best-looking clothing with Uniqlo.
