The Philadelphia Eagles could be set for a troubling time over the coming few months following their loss in the Super Bowl, Albert Breer believes.
The Philadelphia Eagles have certainly made some big steps in the past few years. Having won the Super Bowl back in 2017 with their win over the New England Patriots, they went on something of a decline as they fell to just 4 wins in 2020 before the appointment of head coach Nick Sirianni.
He immediately made a huge jump forward by winning 9 games and making the playoffs in 2021 before heading all the way to the Super Bowl in 2022, only to end up losing to the Kansas City Chiefs on a field goal in the final minute during a game that could very easily have gone either way.

And whilst there are some promising signs that the team has a bright future, especially when to quarterback Jalen Hurts who finished 2nd in the race for league MVP, the amount of changes that they are set to go through could mean that an instant return to the Super Bowl isn’t necessarily a sure thing.
Philadelphia Eagles letting a lot of people fly the nest
The Eagles have already lost two key members of their coaching staff, as offensive coordinator Shane Steichen took the head coaching job for the Indianapolis Colts whilst defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon did the same for the Arizona Cardinals.
But according to NFL reporter Albert Breer, the losses could soon be coming from the playing field as well as the sideline as he predicted that a number of key Eagles players from this past season may not be coming back, especially of they have to end up paying Hurts a big contract.

Based on the initial statement by host Colin Cowherd, as well as the assessment by Breer, it certainly does look as if the Eagles have a lot of rebuilding work ahead of them if they are going to remain competitive, especially in a conference that has a lot of talented teams such as the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys.
But at least they can be safe in the knowledge that they have the most important position on the field secured with Hurts, the question is now, will they be able to get the right pieces around him to stay the force that they have become this season?
