After the major transport lapse at the Solheim Cup, looks like the Presidents Cup has the same villain. However, this time, it was not poor planning. Or well, it could be that the venue decided was not appropriate. The residents, merchants, and local mayors in Montreal are already frustrated with the traffic chaos and delays in reaching any of their destinations. But what is the cause of such a big chaos?
The 2024 Presidents Cup is being hosted at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. This is located in the suburb of Île-Bizard, and it has only one bridge which connects the course to the Island of Montreal. The bridge has been under construction for quite a few months, which is blocking the roads, and taking up time for any passenger commuting through the route.
This time, it was not just the spectators who suffered, but an entire team was affected. Dan Rapaport took to his official X account and shared the report on his wall. He wrote, “Traffic situation has been brutal all week at the Presidents Cup with construction on the Île-Bizard Bridge, which leads to Royal Montreal. Took the International team almost 90 minutes to get back to the hotel. Not ideal.”

Well, the golf world has a take on almost everything, and these days most of the decisions are criticized. once the news was broken by the reporter, they did not leave this opportunity to once again scrutinize the organizers.
Presidents Cup turned into the Solheim Cup?
The morning foursomes began with Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz teeing off against Charley Hull and Esther Henseleit from 7:05 a.m. ET. The Solheim Cup is one of the events that the audience awaits all year long. However, even after the first tee began, the stands were half empty. This was because of the unplanned and unorganized status of the shuttle buses which were arranged for the spectators.
One of them revealed that they stood in the line for over three hours, and still could not get hold of the bus. The opening round of the Presidents Cup is about to begin in just a few hours and one of the fans is scared that this might happen once again. Taking to that, they wrote, “Presidents Cup to Solheim Cup…. Hold my beer”.
Well, the criticism was not limited to the Solheim Cup or just the particular event. the golf community did not miss an opportunity to bring up the horrible event at the Valhalla that Scottie Scheffler fell prey to. Ahead of the second round of the 2024 PGA Championship, the World No. 1 had a miscommunication with the traffic rules, and he ended up in an accident. Well, no one was hurt, however, it could have led to something huge.
He was also arrested for the same. Taking to this, a lot of the fans are hooked on not letting Scheffler drive when the US team heads for the golf club. They left comments like, “DO NOT LET SCOTTIE DRIVE” and “Make sure Scottie doesn’t get arrested and has a driver! Thanks!”

Back in March a post related to Public Works and welfare announced that a new Pont Jacques-Bizard was to be built to replace the existing one, which has reached its maximum lifespan. The new bridge, erected just a few meters from the existing structure, was predicted to handle 30,000 vehicles a day and improve traffic flow for normal people.
However, looks like instead of diminishing the problem, it has only increased it. Already six months have passed and the bridge is still under construction. Taking to this, one of them commented, “That’s been under construction since March when I was last in Montreal. When is it supposed to be complete?”
But seems as if one of them saw a sunny side to it. The International team has players picked from all across the globe except for the USA and Europe. SO one of them stated that the 90 minutes would be a good time for them to bond before the entered the game. Now it is unsure if this was directed as sarcasm because the American team has had solo domination through the past 14 editions.

They have won 12 times, while the International team only won once in 1998, and the other time was a tie between both teams. They wrote, “Team bonding time Dan all good!!” It is for you to interpret if this was a genuine suggestion or a rather witty comment.
