NBA fans criticized a $215 million star after certain news broke out recently involving an incident that took place last year. Furthermore, it was revealed that his franchise also punished him by slapping the player with a fine. Fans called him an “absolute diva”. Others said that his behavior was a reflection of the rumored strained relationship between Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks.
The no. 5 overall pick in the 2018 draft has come under the radar for his behavior with the front office. One can easily recall how he was a no-show at one of their games after a dispute with the head coach, Nate McMillan.
Bleacher Report noted that Trae Young reportedly chartered a private flight during last season’s playoffs, without informing the team. This led to the franchise fining its star guard.

What did the 2x NBA All-Star do?
The NBA world slammed Young for his actions, as he opted to go back to Atlanta by himself instead of with his teammates while choosing not to inform them.
Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:
Lauren Williams of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution stated that Young had booked the flight after a Game 2 road loss to the Miami Heat. She wrote that the relationship between Trae Young and the team general manager, Travis Schlenk “deteriorated” thereafter. According to Clutch Points, Schlenk decided to step down as GM to “take on a more senior advisory role”.
The New York Post also reported on Trae Young’s increased “displeasure” at the Hawks, and that he may be looking for an exit.
How is the team faring?
The Atlanta Hawks are currently the 9th seed in the Eastern Conference with a 22-22 record. Young has been averaging 27.4 points, 9.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game so far this season.

Many believe that it was Young who helped the Hawks reach the playoffs in the last two seasons, but this season, the strains seem glaringly visible to the NBA world. Despite Young’s presence, something seems off about the Hawks.
