Taylor Swift’s latest tour is a blockbuster hit in arenas around the world — and now in multiplexes around North America.
A concert film tied to Swift’s ongoing Eras Tour has already broken AMC Theatres’ record for first-day presales.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” earned $26 million in AMC presales in 24 hours after going on sale on Thursday, according to Deadline. That means the film beats the previous 24-hour AMC presale record, which was set by “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021 after pulling in $16.9 million in presales.
In fact, Swift’s concert film broke the “No Way Home” record in less than three hours, AMC says. And the film’s presale tally will only grow with the earnings at Regal, Cinemark, and other movie theater chains.

“Taylor Swift is giving moviegoing fans and the entire industry the ultimate gift by bringing ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras’ Tour concert film to the big screen,” Jerramy Hainline, SVP, Fandango Ticketing, told Deadline. “Not only is Taylor Swift’s concert film the best first-day ticket seller of the year on Fandango, but the concert film is performing like the superhero she is and ranking among the best first-day ticket sellers of all time from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics and more.”

The concert film will start its four-weekend run in theaters on Friday, Oct. 13, the date that “The Exorcist: Believer,” a sequel to the 1973 film “The Exorcist,” was originally slated for release.
On Thursday, however, executive producer Jason Blum announced that “The Exorcist: Believer” — which stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Jennifer Nettles, and original “Exorcist” star Ellen Burstyn — would hit theaters one week early because of Swift’s concert film.
“Look what you made me do,” Blum tweeted, quoting one of Swift’s lyrics. “The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23. #TaylorWins.”
