Tommy Paul had a great run in 2024, thanks to his outstanding performances in most of the ATP events. The 27-year-old American won three tour titles at the Dallas Open, Queen’s Club Championships, and the Stockholm Open. Not to mention his impressive campaign at majors like Wimbledon. There, the World No.12 succeeded in entering the SF round, before bowing out to Carlos Alcaraz. And now, the new season is about to begin. Well, Paul is ready to kick off his campaign with the Adelaide International. However, there’s something else, apart from tennis, that excites him. Well, it happens to be his liking for college football!
Before his match in the Adelaide International next week, Tommy Paul engaged in a press conference on Sunday. He talked about how his past season went while hoping to continue performing at the highest level in 2025. When asked if he 2024 was like a gold medal for him, in terms of achievements, he said, “Well, I wish it was a gold medal. It was bronze (smiling). I mean, there’s a couple things in my game that I’ve been working on more than others. I just want to improve overall. Hopefully better results, more titles. I just want to do everything a little better, you know?” he added.
Speaking on his pre-season training, he revealed it “was, as always, a bit of a grind but a lot of fun. We push ourselves. It’s, like, the only time we really have to build anything, put any muscle on the body. I think we did a good job this last six weeks or so.” During the interview, however, the reporters noticed something unusual.

There was an Eagles cap Paul was sporting.
For the unversed, the Boston College Eagles football team, is part of the American football. The Eagles compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision under the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The team is a member of the Athletic Coast Conference (ACC). When asked if he’s a fan of college football, the American revealed the secret behind his cap and the sports he’s grown up watching.
“I grew up big into college sports. I used to love the Tar Heels, Tar Heels basketball. I committed to play at Georgia, so I followed their football a bit,” he said. But he also mentioned that “Lately I haven’t been super into college sports. Especially over the past two years or so, it’s been more pro sports that I’ve been watching.”

The ATP pro decided to spend some quality time with his influencer GF Paige in a theater hall last December. The couple watched ‘Complete Unknown’, a biopic based on legendary songwriter Bob Dylan. By the time he finished watching it, Tommy Paul felt very motivated by the film. It was evident from a story Paige shared on Instagram. “A Complete Unknown was so good! Definitely recommend going to see it in theatres,” she wrote.
Along with the reaction to the film, she also shared a cozy picture of Paul. He was seen sitting on a couch, while trying his hands on a guitar! Maybe he got too much inspired by Timothée Chalamet’s performance as Bob Dylan. For the unversed, ‘Complete Unknown’ was released in theaters on Christmas. Chalamet, a 28-year-old Hollywood star known for portraying impactful on-screen performances, plays Dylan in the story. He even rendered his own version of the songwriter’s classics such as ‘It Ain’t Me Babe’, showcasing his dedication in the role.
The actor spent five years to hone his skills to portray Dylan perfectly. It becomes evident from the praise showered on him by his harmonica coach on the film. “When I first got together with Tim, I heard some of the stuff they had prerecorded, and I said, ‘Who’s singing this stuff?’” said Rob Paparozzi, talking to The Post. “He said, ‘That’s me. I’m singing all my own parts.’ I was floored, you know, because I was so impressed … Timmy had already put in some time and committed to this. So it wasn’t like he just wanted to fake this thing,” he added.

Coming back to Paul and his girlfriend, they have been together since meeting for the first time in 2022, according to People Magazine, back in September 2024. Apart from watching movies, the couple also celebrated Christmas together. In fact, Tommy Paul had an interesting reaction when she sported a special holiday outfit on the eve of the festival.
She shared a picture while showcasing her look on social media. Paige was seen wearing a light brown blazer and shorts. She paired them up with high-knee boots and a black turtleneck top. “Connecticut Christmas,” wrote Lorenze in her post’s caption. In no time, the post caught the attention of her fans, and Paul was also among them. He simply reacted with emojis like “🥛🫡,” while making the post funny.
