Big additions might be on the table for Frisco’s Toyota Stadium, home of Major League Soccer club FC Dallas.
Expanding premium suites and club areas at the sports venue is a key component of a new filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The filing also includes new broadcast and press working space set to meet MLS guidelines and sports lighting that would be incorporated into a new canopy system.

Toyota Stadium and its adjoining facility opened in 2005 and was the third dedicated MLS stadium to open in the U.S. It is home to FC Dallas, owned by Clark and Dan Hunt, and also hosts concerts and festivals, in addition to other sporting events.

“It would be premature to comment at this time. We value our partnership with FC Dallas. Toyota Stadium and FC Dallas are important parts of Frisco’s tourism and entertainment economy,” a statement from the City of Frisco said concerning the filing.
While details in the state filing are limited, it shows an estimated construction cost of $130 million for the work that counts Dallas architect HKS Inc. as its design firm.
Construction would commence on the renovations in January, with completion set for August 2027, according to the filing.

The eastern portion of the stadium is not currently built out with the same suite and club access as its western counterpart.

The stadium, located at 9200 World Cup Way, is set to be among four base training camps during the 2026 World Cup. Nine games will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
Toyota Stadium underwent significant alterations a little over five years ago. The additions totaling more than $55 million brought fresh suites and club-level accommodations, new food and beverage options, video boards, locker rooms, and the National Soccer Hall of Fame, among many other updates.
