Despite all this evidence of Grasso’s supremacy, some sections of fans have called the win a fluke. Alexa Grasso in a recent interview with Ariel Helwani looked ready to prove her point as she appeared ready for a rematch. While there were a few murmurs of her win being a fluke, lots of fans have now come out to support Grasso.
Fans don’t believe in flukes
Alexa Grasso may have been ready for a rematch to prove that she is the champion, but her a lot of her fans didn’t see her win as a fluke. One such fan expressed his views and commented, “That was far from a fluke”. Another fan who thought similarly said, “People calling Alexa W a fluke are straight casuals. She didn’t win a lucky decision or anything, she finished Valentina and took that belt. Took it.” It was very clear that Alexa Grasso had no doubt left in a lot of her fan’s minds.
While some fans had the feeling that Shevchenko may come back to win the rematch, it was not the popular opinion. A fan commented, “I love Grasso but Valentina just had an off night & will get her title back” Whereas another fan said, “Last time we called a performance a fluke Edwards outclassed Usman in the rematch.” A fan pointed out how Valentina Shevchenko was outboxed in the fight and commented, “That wasn’t a fluke though she timed it well and caught her just look at Valentina’s face when she tapped it was completely red”.

Fans also gave examples of how a rematch that happened after calling Leon Edwards win over Kamaru Usman ended and compared it with the Grasso-Shevchenko fight. The comment read, “If it was a fluke Usman would have been able to control Edwards back and choke him out any of the countless times Edwards gave his back up. You dodged an attack, took her back standing, and proceeded to choke her out. Who the fuck could even begin to think that this was a “fluke”!
Alexa Grasso wants to prove a point
The Mexican flyweight champion may have won herself fans with the championship victory, but she looks hungry for more. In a recent interview, Grasso mentioned how she was ready for a rematch. She said her opponent wanted it and had asked for it. Grasso also talked about how some people had called it a mistake from Shevchenko and discounted her victory as a fluke.
