But lately, things haven’t been easy for the seven-time Grand Slam champion. Her fans have been anxiously hoping for a powerful comeback, but fate seems to have different plans. And now, in a move that has left the tennis world buzzing, Venus has finally addressed the question everyone’s been asking—her future in the sport.
The 44-year-old engaged in an interaction with Vivian Tu for the Richer Lives by SoFi podcast. The two deliberated on a wide range of factors including Williams’ life on and off the court and her plans for the future. Interacting in the podcast, Williams opened up about her retirement plans and highlighted how difficult it is for her to call it quits completely from the tennis arena.
When quizzed whether she would ever retire from anything in her life including tennis, Williams shared, “Will I ever retire? I don’t think completely.” Remember, Williams has failed to make a dominant comeback on the courts for quite some time now. However, retiring from the sport is still not an option on her list.
