He came to mainstream media’s attention while playing for Chino Hills in High School with his elder brothers. Lamelo has No Ceiling
Lamelo Ball is considered one of the brightest young talents the NBA has on offer. He is the star that Jordan’s team, the Charlotte Hornets are building a team around. In a recent interview with Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, former 2x All-Star Baron Davis said this about LaMelo’s ceiling: “He has no ceiling. We don’t know what his ceiling is. He has an intangible that only the greats are given, he has the personality, vision, game, heart, and he’s clutch. He’s highly intelligent, he has an incredible emotional IQ. He’s da*n near 6-foot-9 now. I stood next to him. You think about someone who’s basketball is art. The basketball is like a musical instrument to this kid”.

LaMelo’s contract extension with the Hornets
The Charlotte Hornets made sure that they signed their franchise cornerstone, LaMelo Ball, to a new deal. After his rookie contract expired earlier this year, he signed a five-year contract extension which will be worth $260 million dollars.

The Hornets’ front office considered signing LaMelo to a new deal a no-brainer, even though LaMelo played only 23 games last season due to a fractured right ankle. When fit, LaMelo averages around 19.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 7.3 assists. The team is banking on LaMelo’s generational talent to win an NBA title, despite his injury history.
