While Conor McGregor coaching against Michael Chandler in The Ultimate Fighter season 31 greatly excited the fans, the declining viewership seemed to relay a different story. With the rise of the internet, TV viewership has indeed faced a steep decline in the numbers game. However, Brian Davis, the YouTuber who goes by the name ‘True Geordie’ had another reason.
‘The Notorious’ and the YouTuber were involved in a heated online exchange of words. Despite that, Davis went on YouTube and revealed his thoughts on the declining viewership for TUF 31. He stood strong with his belief that the fall in TUF viewership was directly proportional to McGregor’s stardom. He further dissed the Irish mixed martial artist for being out of the arena for far too long.

The news about ‘The Notorious’ coaching against Chandler at TUF undeniably raised the spirits of the MMA world. The cherry on top was the announcement about McGregor fighting Chandler in the finale. However, the TV viewership of the show reportedly faced a steady decline.
The friction between Davis and McGregor gave rise to yet another video from ‘True Geordie’. Davis revealed the numbers for TUF 31 viewers on ESPN and compared it to the time when McGregor coached against Uriah Faber. He further wondered if the numbers indicated the fall in McGregor’s star status.
Davis said, “The numbers are in for The Ultimate Fighter season 31 debut, the average 294000 viewers on ESPN, McGregor versus Chandler. That is roughly half of what the original McGregor coaching season debuted at 2015, with Uriah Faber as the opposing coach. Now is that an indication of McGregor star declining? Maybe, you know. I mean, winning one fight in seven years will do that. However, I just think people are so f**king bored and over The Ultimate Fighter.”

The heat between Conor McGregor and Davis
After Davis commented on McGregor’s interviews, the Irishman sent a voice message to the YouTuber. He fat-shamed Geordie and then proceeded to call him ‘Mr. Estrogen’. Without a doubt, he did not like what the YouTuber said about him.
Later, Geordie sent a challenge to the ‘Mystic Mac’ for a fight in any form of combat sports. He claimed that he could easily defeat the fighter owing to his bigger size. Additionally, he offered to donate the money to burn victims.
