Yankees Slugger Juan Soto Predicted to Make ‘History’ With AL Contender

Although MLB’s Winter Meetings are days away, there hasn’t been significant movement in free agency. That’s likely because outfielder Juan Soto is still deciding where he’ll sign what could be a record-breaking contract. Can the New York Yankees convince him to call the Bronx home for the next decade-plus?
The Bombers are seriously competing with four other known teams for Soto: the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays. Any situation where the left-handed slugger doesn’t remain in pinstripes will likely deflate the fan base. However, it’ll be twice as bad if he signs with any of these other teams. The Yankees just lost the World Series to the Dodgers and the Mets are right across town, while the Blue Jays and Red Sox are American League East rivals.
Is there a scenario in which Soto re-signs with the Yankees? Andrew Tredinnick and Pete Caldera of NorthJersey.com shared their predictions for some free agents. While they rarely agreed on landing spots, they both think Soto is headed back to the Bronx.

Caldera’s reasoning was simple: It’s just something the Yankees must make happen. Tredinnick provided a little more substance regarding the historical implications of Soto spending a significant period in the Bronx.
