The Dallas Cowboys kept their long-shot playoff hopes alive with Sunday’s comeback victory against the Philadelphia Eagles.
After Thursday’s Thanksgiving win over the Kansas City Chiefs, they got an even bigger bump.
The Cowboys went from a 14% chance up to a 24% chance to make the playoffs as a wild card team with their 31-28 win over KC, according to the NFL playoff simulator by The Athletic, which has been adapted from The New York Times’ simulator.
With one of the toughest games on their schedule ahead in Detroit, the Cowboys have little margin for error. Dallas trails four teams for the conference’s three wild card spots. Dallas has only a 3% chance of catching the Eagles in the division, according to the simulator.
