Trade Details and Draft Capital
The Philadelphia Eagles officially traded wide receiver A.J. Brown to the New England Patriots on Monday. According to Adam Schefter, NFL Insider, the Eagles are receiving a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick for the trade.
A Reunion with Mike Vrabel
Brown will reunite with Mike Vrabel, the Patriots’ head coach and former Tennessee Titans head coach. Vrabel drafted Brown to the Tennessee Titans in 2019 in the second round. He played for them for three seasons before being traded to the Eagles in 2022.

Elite Production and Pro Bowl Pedigree
According to the Patriots’ roster, the 28-year-old wide receiver is a three-time Pro Bowler and three-time second-team All-Pro. He has racked up 8,029 receiving yards over his seven-year career.
Fitting into the Patriots Culture
Marcus Spears, NFL analyst and former defensive end, explained how well Brown will fit into the Patriots culture on ESPN’s NFL Live show.
“If A.J. Brown wants the football, they’re going to find ways to give it to him,” said Spears.

Supporting Quarterback Drake Maye
He also described Brown as a gift to Patriots’ quarterback, Drake Maye.
“Drake Maye has played well and proven as a young quarterback that he’s on the ascension of being a really good quarterback in this league. And you supplement that by bringing in a really good wide receiver,” said Spears.

First Impressions in New England
Brown was all smiles at his first press conference as a New England Patriot on Tuesday.
“Walking up the hill with the uniform on, I was like, ‘man this is real’, you know?” said Brown.
He told reporters that he’s still in awe and just trying to take it all in.
“I caught myself at one point of the practice, I wasn’t paying attention because I was like ‘dang I’m a Patriot’, you know?” said Brown.
A Childhood Dream Realized
In an exclusive interview with Maria Taylor on the “7PM in Brooklyn” podcast, Brown had a Patriots rug in his house. He admitted his love for the Patriots since he was a kid.
“This is my team. This was my team since I was a kid,” said Brown.
After weeks of trade speculation, it seems Brown has finally settled into his new home.
“Obviously I know this ain’t Heaven, but it’s close to it,” said Brown.
