They know magic! Robert Griffin III has been left dumbfounded by the latest Olympic trials. The courtesy goes to Noah Lyles and Grant Holloway, who ran so fast that the legendary QB was stunned — so much so that Griffin III is convinced that the running feat is nothing but “ABSURD” as the clocking time is well-nigh beyond human reach. However, the participants made it possible.
Meanwhile, RGIII is an avid follower of the US Olympic team. Earlier, he had enabled WNBA star Caitlin Clark to see a silver lining right after the Olympic board snubbed her.

Three years after a “bitter race” left him with silver in Tokyo in 2021, Holloway sent a message to the world with his spectacular feat. The 110m hurdler came up with three sub-13 second times at the US Olympic Team Trials — track & field. He clocked in a world-leading time of 12.86, enough to create history. His achievement did not go unnoticed, as Griffin III commented while expressing his disbelief. “This race would have been the fastest Olympic Final EVER and the 1st with three medalist going sub 13. Team USA is ABSURD,” tweeted the NFL legend, who is still in shock.

Besides Holloway’s success, Griffin III had another significant achievement to celebrate after Noah Lyles cruised to the final. Before giving a “who, me?” look to the camera, Lyles clocked 19.60 to win his semifinal heat. This was enough for Griffin III to give him a shout-out as he dedicated a post for Lyles on X, “Noah Lyles just ran 19.60 in the 200m after floating through the last 20m of the race. This ninja is DIFFERENT.” Unlike Holloway and Lyles’ success, Clark failed to get a breakthrough as she was left out of the US Olympic team. But the NFL legend ensured to stand by her.
From backing up Clark to sharing NBA Draft insights, Griffin III does it all
While legends like Diana Taurasi and A’ja Wilson made their way to the US Olympic team, the Clark craze faded. Griffin III pointed out how the WNBA star’s presence would have benefitted “the growth of the sport. The broadcast partners. The other women on the team through increased visibility.” However, as the NFL legend believes, this break would be a boon for Clark as she could rest and return with a BOOM next season.

Amidst the US Olympic craze, Griffin III did not forget to share his thoughts about the history in the making in the world of the NBA. Days before the 2024 NBA Draft, the legendary QB was convinced that the USC alum and basketball phenom, Bronny James, deserved to be drafted and came with a plea, “People need to STOP HATING on Bronny James.”
Now that his prediction has come true, Griffin III tweeted, “You gotta be a real hater to see the history Lebron James and Bronny James made as the 1st FATHER-SON DUO TO PLAY AT THE SAME TIME IN THE NBA plus be on the same team, and be like, ‘Yea I don’t like it.’” The quarterback legend is just one name — millions of others are waiting with bated breath to witness the father-son action.
